Born and raised in New Hampshire, former professional cyclist Ted King is a recent Bay Area transplant and co-founder of the the maple syrup sports nutrition company UnTapped.
After graduating from Middlebury College in Vermont with a degree in economics, King decided to pursue professional road racing, spending the last five years of his career with Cannondale Pro Cycling. Infamous in the American cycling scene for his controversial disqualification from the 2013 Le Tour de France following the Stage 4 TTT in Nice where he finished seven seconds outside the time cut while riding with a separated shoulder.
King is now better known as an amazing storyteller, not one to turn down an invite for seemingly impossible adventures over any terrain involving any type of bike and the reigning Dirty Kanza Champion.
He will be leading the UnTapped Maple Espresso Train, hammerhead ride on Saturday morning at #CampoVelo and will be discussing his experience as a professional cyclist over the last decade as well as his transition into the real world during the weekend’s fireside chats.
