Join Us for a Three Day VirtualVelo
Posted: April 27th, 2020
As you know, it was with great disappointment that we had to postpone this year’s CampoVelo until 2021. Normally, we’d be in the final stretch—the entire team putting the pedal to the metal with countless calls, emails and meetings with chefs, cyclists, food purveyors, and rental vendors (tents, chairs, and port-o-potties, oh my!), stuffing hundreds of swag bags, planning signage installations, and all the last minute things that pop up when producing a large event.
The CampoVelo team thrives on this exciting time–man do we miss it, and we miss you! So, although we can’t get together in person, we still want to bring you a weekend of food, wine, cycling and fun. In the spirit of being together at home, we’re hosting a VirtualVelo by CampoVelo May 1-2-3.
Jump online to dish about cooking and wine with Chef Chris Cosentino and the CampoVelo gang and listen in as they regale with us stories of their favorite bike adventures and more.
Friday, May 1st 5-6pm PST
Have you ever wondered what to cook to highlight that sauvignon blanc or merlot? How to make the perfect cheese and charcuterie board to serve with your favorite viognier and cabernet? Now is your chance to learn from the best! Join Clif Family Winery’s all star team—Winemaker Laura Barrett and Chef John McConnell as they walk through pairing various wine varieties with your favorite foods.
Saturday, May 2nd, 5-6pm PST
Get ready for some learning and lots of laughs with Chris Cosentino. Our favorite gregarious chef extraordinaire will walk us through some of his favorite “stay at home” dishes and share tips to maximize what’s in your pantry. Rumor has it Chef Jeff Mahin might be popping in to keep an eye on things. To wrap up the hour, we’ll get sweet with Chocolatier Chris Kollar and Pastry Chef Kara Lind.
Sunday, May 3rd, 5-6pm PST
Grab a glass of wine and settle in for story time with CLIF Bar Founder & Co-CEO Gary Erickson and Eric Gilsenan, aka the voice of CampoVelo. They’ll talk about the early days of CLIF Bar and discuss some of their fondest memories on the bike, as well as how CLIF is giving back to our frontline healthcare workers.
Mark your calendars and stay tuned for details on how to join our CampoVelo VirtualVelo. The cost is free, but we ask that you consider donating to No Kid Hungry, who needs our help now more than ever.
