Recommended airports due to ease of travel and rental car access are Sacramento (SMF), and Oakland (OAK). Please visit our travel section for more information about visiting Napa Valley.
What about flying with my bike?
We have partnered with Bike Flights. Please find all details here to make your bike shipping smooth and worry-free.
For out-of-towners, where should we stay?
We recommend a hotel in St Helena or Calistoga. Yes there is a bit of driving (but not more than 9 miles) from Calistoga to our Sunday start, but it’s a beautiful drive (or ride) with no traffic.
What hotels are offering CampoVelo special rates or incentives?
Our primary partner hotels are Calistoga Motor Lodge, The Wydown, and the Wine Country Inn. Please mention CampoVelo when making reservations in order to receive your special event rate. Visit our travel page for more information.

CampoVelo registered cyclists and guests of any Pass type are able to check-in Friday, from 1p to 4pm at Clif Family Winery, 709 Main Street St. Helena. Saturday check-in is 7am to 1pm, located at Calistoga Motor Lodge, 1880 Lincoln Ave, Calistoga, CA 94515. Sunday-only Pass-holders, will check-in at the Ranch Winery, 105 Zinfandel Lane, St. Helena, starting at 7am.
Can someone else pick up my goody bag for me?
For security reasons and to sign our event waiver, every participant must be present at packet pickup on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
What’s the weather like in May?
May mornings can be brisk. That means layers are in order. The good news is that at our longer Sunday rides we will have Gear-checks at all of our Refuel Stations and we will deliver your extra clothes back to the finish at Ranch Winery
Helmets & Headphones – here’s the deal.
Helmets are 100% required on all of our rides. Headphones are not allowed at any of our weekend rides. While we love a good tune, we say, it’s time to make new friends and save the music for our post ride festivities.
Where will I be able to get a Mountain Bike? (I am traveling with my Road Bike only). And can I rent a Road Bike?
Rentals bikes are available at The Calistoga Bike Shop, 1318 Lincoln Ave, Calistoga, CA 94515 www.calistogabikeshop.com and at St. Helena Cyclery, 1156 Main Street, St Helena CA 94575 www.sthelenacyclery.com
On Sunday, how many Rest Stops will there be on the course?
This depends upon which ride distance you sign up for: the 30 mile route has one refuel station, the 50 mile routes have three refuel stations, and the 80 mile routes has four.
What type of on course support will you have?
CampoVelo has mobile mechanics, medical support and bike marshals on all routes.
We highly encourage all participants to know basic safety and repair skills, including fixing a flat tire. Be prepared and bring your own pump and extra tubes for your bike. However, if you are still unable to make the repair, neutral support cars will be following all ride routes and can assist you with any minor mechanical issue you may have. Help is all around!
What if am unable to join CampoVelo? Can I get a refund or do a transfer to another rider?
Unfortunately, we cannot refund your money after you have registered for the event. If you cannot attend, you may request that your musette gift bag be mailed to you after the event by contacting us at info@RideNapaValley.com. You are able to transfer your Pass. A $25 transfer fee may apply. Please do email us about transferring your Pass.
Can I bring a guest to the Sunday event?
Yes, we are able to offer a Sunday lunch pass to registered cyclists. Please go to our registration page and you will be able to purchase this directly.
What if it rains?
CampoVelo will take place rain or shine; however, in the event of a severe storm or inclement weather, authorities may decide to cancel the cycling portion of the event and will make the call at the last minute.
